Bio

Ruth Marks Eglash is an award-winning veteran journalist based in Israel. Currently, she works full-time for the AFP News Agency in Jerusalem.

In the past, she contributed to an array of media outlets such as Jewish Insider and Fox News Digital.

 

She spent eight years as the Jerusalem correspondent for The Washington Post, and 13 years as senior editor and beat reporter at The Jerusalem Post. In 2010, Ruth won the United Nations Alliance of Civilization Journalism Award.

Born and raised in the U.K. to a British mother and an Israeli father, Ruth studied media communications at the University of Leeds and immigrated to Israel in the mid-1990s. After short stints in New York and in Milwaukee, Wis., she now lives just outside Jerusalem with her husband, three young adult children, and a Shih-Tzu named Kylie.
